Quick take:Daft Punk Random Access Memories

Punk. Disco. Pop.Futuristic . Brilliant. Creative. These are just a few words to describe them. Daft Punk's album Random Access Memories gives us listeners such an infusion of various genre's of music. French Duo  "Guy-Manuel" de Homem-Christo  and Thomas Bangalter never disappoint when it comes to creativity. I became a fan of them when I  first heard the Tron: Legacy Soundtrack in 2010. It was nothing short of amazing.

What makes Daft Punk such a "stand out" group is their  innovative way of mixing music and sampling from artists such as Michael McDonald's "I Keep Forgettin" and combining it with an electric yet melodic sound. A lot of their music reminds me of the nostalgic video game theme songs I used to play growing up, with just the right amount of pop and funk.

In addition, Guy welcomes us into his world with a brief narrative on how his passion for music started at an early age and how Daft Punk became what it is today. This is another bonus in my book.

Also let's not forget the upbeat edgy hit single "Get Lucky" with Pharrell Williams. I just can't stop dancing to this song! Along with Pharrell also being featured in "Lose yourself to Dance".There so much versatility in this album, you could play one song at hip hop party, another at a rave and a song to just mellow out at a picnic.

Lose Yourself to Dance

Daft Punk takes you to another universe with it's modern and old school flair. This album experiments with various instruments and "orchestra symphony" like sounds.

Daft Punk Beyond 2013

Random Access Memories is a lengthy album but it's worth your time. If you have a deep appreciation for music, this is one album to get your hands on!

Go get it!
